View showing the aftermath and the burial of the Indians that where killed at the battle of Wounded knee massacre. The armed US Army 7th Cavalry standing over the site with Indian bodies. There are two solders in the ditch with several Indians bodies. The one man marked with a ink mark X -is identified on backside as Charlie Hurd.
The backside has the following fountain pen writing: "This is the picture where they are burring the Indians pine ridge war. The man with the X marked on his shirt front is my sister husband Charlie Hurd or is my uncle. He and his wife passed away"
