Rare Outdoor view showing the old railway working wharf pier used and owned by the Monterey Salinas narrow gauge RR.  Also you can see a large building
along Del Monte Beach.   This working wharf was used to load/unload freight and supplies from in coming cargo ships.  

In 1874,
the first narrow gauge to be operated in California was known as the Monterey Salinas Narrow gauge Railroad and served the area til late c1880
